Village History, Harworth Weather & Current Events
david Hogg
I am David Hogg and have lived in Harworth & Bircotes since being born with my identical twin brother Phillip in 1947. As a youngster joined the local Cubs & Scouts and was also a member of Christ Church Choir.

Without doubt the best thing that I have done is to marry Jean Harrsion in 1970. We have a son Simon whom we are very proud of. Simon studied at the same Bircotes school's as Jean and I and then at Nottingham Trent University where he gained a BA(Hons) degree. Jean completed her Cert Ed and teaches Computing in the Community.

For 31 years I worked for British Coal's Purchasing & Stores Departments at Harworth Colliery, Doncaster HQ and Sheffield Consumable Stores. On privatisation, I kept my mining connections and joined Joy Mining Machinery for 9 years as their Stores Administrator. More recently I am enjoying being a civil servant.

Since 1999 I have been studying in my spare time with the Open University and have completed a range of computing and Information Technology courses. I gained my BSc degree in April 2006 at the Barbican Centre, London.

One of my interests is manipulating computer data. I am currently experimenting with a wireless network that collects weather statistics for Harworth. Please use the appropriate link too see the current data.
